Benjamin Simmons birthplace is a
bit of a mystery. His date of birth on the 1839 register is given as 16
March 1897. He married Ellen Louisa White, registered in Yeovil in
1921. Son Benjamin was born 28 December 1922 also registered in Yeovil.

August 1934 page 8: "CALF CLUB On Saturday Chippenham Young Farmers’ Calf
Club met with great success at the Wootton Bassett show. Miss Christine
Adams was awarded second prize for judging dairy cows and heifers (D
team), Master Ben Simmons, of Yatton Keynell, took first prize, also
second and third and silver cup with a calf, spring weaned 1934 in
competing against about 40 calves autumn weaned 1933 or Spring weaned
1933..." The family seemed to start appearing in the news in Yatton
Yeynell in the early 1930s.
Ben Simmons Snr. of Sunnyside, Yatton Keynell, died on 4 January 1973.
His birth date at time of death was given as 3 March 1897.
