William J Cary was born in Great Elm, Somerset, in 1903, the son of Harry Cary, a farmer at Rookery Farm, Leigh on Mendip and Emily Sherrin. William died in 1968, however the dairy was listed in the telephone directories from about 1954 on into the 1980's.
